“We were in the process of relocating facilities and the Napa San wanted $1.5 million to hook up, and funds were tight so we explored the option of water reuse to reduce the hook-up fees. Long and short we engaged Elutriate Systems, who designed and installed a treatment system that returned the treated effluent back to potable water for direct reuse. The system operated well for 3 years until we relocated to a larger facility.”

“Our operation was started up as a hold and haul, where all of the winery effluent was hauled off, however we had paid the city of Napa to discharge 1,000 gpd. Elutriate Systems was able to work their treatment system into our existing infrastructure, including repurposing a 20,000 stainless wine storage tank, adding a rotary blower, with Dissolved Oxygen and Variable Frequency drive, clarifier, and a method to dose 1,000 gpd to the city.
Also as we produce more than 1,000 gpd, so we continue to haul off, with the Elutriate Systems Smart System , we are able to automatically deflect strong effluent to haul off and only treat that is easiest. Our compliance has been great.”

“We took over operations of a wine storage facility with attached truck washing operation. The existing treatment system was installed by Elutriate Systems and it worked very well. However over time the truck washing operation was leased out, and well the loads that were sent to the treatment systems we both high in BOD but also with the sanitization pH rinses, caused compliance issues.
Elutriate Systems came back in and both expanded the capacity of the treatment system but also made it Smart. The effluent would be pumped to a holding tank where it would be pumped into the expanded treatment system. If the treatment system began having issues with low DO or out of range pH, the feed would stop automatically, and restart automatically when back in compliance. If the holding tank filled it would cascade to a haul off tank, which could also be fed back to the treatment system if needed.”
